Suddenly it’s dark outside when you wake up, layering up in clothes is cozy, and pumpkin spice lattes taste good. We’re not complaining though, we love Vancouver for its seasons!
September was a steady month for the both of us. Phil is starting to find himself in the wedding videography business and we’ve finally dived into “wedding planning” mode ourselves. With the way things are looking, we’ll be having a (hopefully) sunny ceremony in the summer of 2020 (#SOOODEEP2020).
It seems like for the past few years I’ve found myself traveling to a Spanish speaking country; first Ecuador, then Mexico for two years in a row. So I’ve finally started learning Spanish! My Spanish teacher is from Mexico and she is muy, muy bien. I love how lively the language is.
Sunshowers & Bass also has a big announcement coming soon! We’ll share on the blog in the upcoming weeks once everything is settled.
As for la musica…
We’re feeling the mood of this month’s mix. The first half of the mix is nice n’ chill, and then it’s the usual house music thereafter.
I think our new favourite “find” this month is The Librarian. The Librarian is a bass music DJ from Squamish, BC and she’s been around for a while. She’s one of the babes that started Bass Coast but for some reason, we never properly listened to her. Her low-frequency bass and selective choice of instrumentals is a minimalist’s dream. Go listen to “Slow” right now–it’s even Halloween themed! Just in time for doot doot season.
On the topic of Halloween, Delta Heavy is playing a spooky set at the Red Room on October 27th but we’re seeing Shiba San the week before and Tchami the week after, so we haven’t made any affirmative Halloween plans yet.
Do you have any Halloween plans or costumes in mind?
